Why visit Budapest?

Letsgo2 employees have travelled extensively to the destinations we feature. Here are the five main reasons they would consider a visit to Budapest.

2 Cities in 1
Originally two separate towns on either side of the River Danube, Buda and Pest merged in 1873. Buda is the quieter historical side of the city whereas Pest is the commercial centre with more shops, restaurants and nightlife.

Buda Castle
The name Buda Castle extends to an area much greater than the castle itself covering the entire historical quarter and Royal Palace. Take the funicular to the Castle, a little cable car from the foot of Chain Bridge. Trinity Square is at the centre of the Castle district where the best restaurants and shops can be found and The Royal Palace is now home to the Hungarian National Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Art and the Budapest History Museum.

Thermal Springs And Spas
Offering the visitor the highest number of medicinal thermal springs in the world, there are 24 medical spas, public baths, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, 10 with a special medical capacity and therapeutic value.

Margaret Island (Margitsziget)
Located in the middle of the River Danube, the 100 hectares of parkland is a haven of peace and quiet with no motor vehicles allowed. Rent a Bringohinto Cycle Car, a pedal driven four-wheeler for two or four passengers or simply walk around the English, French and Japanese gardens.

Grand Market Hall
A very busy and vivid market on the Pest side, Grand Market Hall gives a glimpse of the everyday life of Hungarian people. Built in the 19th century and restored to its full splendour in 1994, it blends neo-Gothic architecture with 5 modern state-of-the-art market halls.
