The never ending days of rain, we decided it was time to book a short break away to get some sun and relax, first we looked at Europe however I fancied somewhere different and came across Abu Dhabi, I know a few people that have been there and have come back raving about it. So we started to look into the possibility of visiting Abu Dhabi –

The best part of a short break to Abu Dhabi is that you can still enjoy a beach resort, we decided to stay on Saadiyat Island at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas The hotel was stunning we arrived at Abu Dhabi airport after a fantastic flight with Etihad Airways we were taken straight to our hotel which from the moment we walked in was amazing! The pool stretched down to the beach and sun loungers were more like day beds, definitely somewhere you could spend day after day soaking up the sun.

After speaking to a few people we decided to visit Yas Island, this is where Ferrari World and Yas Water World can be found, both my partner and I enjoy a go on a rollercoaster so opted to visit Ferrari World first, on arrival we were told we could buy a combi-ticket allowing us to enjoy both which we went ahead and purchased. For an indoor theme park, Ferrari World had it all and kept us busy for hours, the ‘Formula Rossa’ is the fastest roller coaster and really does live up to its title! Once we finished at Ferrari World we headed over to the Water Park, and it was perfect we spent some time relaxing by the pool and enjoying the different rides they offered, some of which I’d never seen at water parks before! The great thing about both parks is that they open until late, giving you the opportunity to spend enough time at both.

Heading back to the hotel and planning our next day to go and see the stunning Emirates Palace Hotel –, we also decided to head back to Yas Island one evening for dinner at Yas Marina.

The one regret we had from our visit to Abu Dhabi is that we didn’t stay longer! 5 nights at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas start from only £699pp. Valid for stays between 1 – 30 June 2014.
