Holidays are coming and the pressure is on!! Thinking about travelling abroad with 3 toddlers brings nothing but fear into my mind.  When you are burdened….my apologies, that was a typo….blessed with kids it doesn’t sound like it is going to be much of a break for the parents. So where do you begin? Travelling with the under fives is difficult and my mother frequently likes to remind me that there are plenty of places in England to go to and travelling abroad is simply unnecessary.  That ignored, I book our first family holiday to Barbados https://www.letsgo2.com/holidays/caribbean-and-mexico/barbados/default.aspx .  And why wouldn’t I, a holiday to Barbados ticks all of the boxes for a guaranteed perfect family getaway.

So of course the night before the flight, I laid in my bed staring at the ceiling thinking “what have I done?”.  This is going to be nothing but a nightmare! The thought of all three toddlers running wild on the plane, hyper on the chocolate you gave them as a bribe to be good, whilst other passengers stare at you thinking you are terrible parents. Then, the alarm goes off and I say to myself…. you can do this!  Whilst tempted to turn left on the plane and let my husband and kids turn right we sit in our seats and prepared ourselves for the next 9 hours.  So I pull out my list of activities to keep kids happy on board a plane and wait until I need to start activity one. Although the aeroplane police warning – who are looking out for naughty little children – was mentioned several times throughout the flight, we survived!!!

We find ourselves arriving at the stunning 4*+ Tamarind by Elegant Hotels https://www.letsgo2.com/barbados/hotels/tamarind/default.aspx and I felt like I was in paradise.  Boasting a prime location of Barbados on the Platinum West Coast, Tamarind by Elegant Hotels is the ideal resort and here is why you need to stay at this wonderful property.  There are lots of water sport activities to enjoy.  You can experience the exhilarating ride of a banana boat, snorkel with the wonderful marine life and colourful coral reefs and smile secretly to yourself as you watch your husband attempt to windsurf.  The children had their own little adventure.  My eldest had a fantastic time at the complimentary Flying Fish Kid’s Club which offered a wide range of fun and activities dedicated to the under twelve’s.  To be honest, the most heart-warming experience of our holiday to Barbados that will leave a long lasting impression in all our minds, was watching the release of baby turtles into the sea.  The hotel allows a wonderful opportunity to get up close and witness this incredible natural experience.  Whilst Tamarind by Elegant Hotels is the perfect family-friendly resort, there was also an opportunity for us to take advantage of the babysitting and my husband and I enjoyed the mouth-watering menu at Daphne’s Barbados.

A beautiful beach in Barbados

Having 3 young children is always a concern when choosing accommodation, as there are not many hotels that can accommodate us all in one room.  However, Tamarind Barbados accommodated us all in a one-bedroom suite, which had breathtaking views of the ocean.

Please take my advise and go and experience your own family holiday at the 4* Tamarind by Elegant Hotels in Barbados, it really was a holiday which fulfilled all our dreams.

Price for a family of five, 7 nights Bed & Breakfast at the 4*+ Tamarind by Elegant Hotels starts from £3299 including return flights with Virgin Atlantic from London Gatwick. Valid for stays between 01 – 30 September 2014.
