I hear a lot of people say, Cancun, isn’t that for American Spring Break? Well the simple answer is NO! Cancun does have a nightlight that CNN describe as ‘Puts Las Vegas nightlife to shame’ which is true, casinos, all- night clubs, pool parties and All Inclusive Bars, all form part of the hotel zones downtown party area.

But there is so much more. The nightlife forms such a small part of a holiday to Cancun that it is possible to spend a whole fortnight there and never enter the ‘coco bongo show world’, well almost …

So what else is there to do in Cancun and where do you stay. Well to start the hotel choice is vast and varied, but importantly all the hotels line the amazing wide pure white sandy beach. If you want a Spa break with pure luxury there is the Diamond award winning, adult only, Le Blanc Spa resort, one of only two Diamond resort properties in Cancun, and with up to $1500 credit to spend on excursions or room upgrades locally a fantastic luxury option. If you have kids then the Great Parnassus is ideal, with a pirate ship mini water park and Mini golf, and rooms that sleep up to 3 children a fantastic option for families that represents great value for money.

The hotel zone runs along a 10 mile stretch of beach and the nightlife is easy to get to, and equally easy to avoid, allowing you to focus on the suntan or the nightlife in equal portions, and if you prefer a more relaxed nightlife then the British style black pub or American Sports bar at the Marriott will cater to your tastes.

And what to do, well apart from lap up the year round sun, and excellent weather there are so many amazing and fun things to do for all, but a few of my favorites are ;

Enjoy the Cultural Mayan Past – Visit the famous Chitchen Itza pyramid or amazing cliff top fortress at tulum from the areas mayan past, or shop in the traditional Mexican town of Velionoid on route to the cultural past

Swim with Whale Sharks – This amazing experience of feeling like a dwarf when swimming in the open water with one of natures gentle giants is not to be missed

Eco Parks Galore – Visit one of 3 eco parks that cater to the adventurous among you by zip lining over the jungle at X-Plor or snorkel through underground rivers and with Dolphins at X-Hel or take in the family orientated shows and experience at X-Caret

Sky Dive – Imagine Sky Diving over a pristine beach before settling into a gentle ride to land in front of a beach bar where a cold beer awaits, only on a Cancun Holiday

Water Sports Galore – From Jet Ski and Speedboating around the lagoon to Big Game fishing in the open water for Snappers and sailfish, if your lucky your hotel may even cook your catch

If you want a stay in a larger All Inclusive hotel then there are many that run all along the coast from Cancun, starting with the famous Moon Palace Resort there are lots of choice and down to Playa Del Carmen, so a Riveria Maya Holiday would also be a great opportunity to have the best of both Cancun and the more relaxed beaches of the Rivera, all easily accessible on one straight coastal road. Whether you choose a holiday to Cancun or a holiday to the Riveria Maya I guarantee you will have an incredible holiday experience.
