January is the time to jump on the New Year, New You bandwagon. Everyone starts eating well and heading to the gym, vowing that this year is the year to get healthy! The BodyHoliday is an all-inclusive hotel that harnesses the new year spirit all year round. It bases everything it does on 4 key pillars of well-being: relaxation, restorative beauty, exercise and good diet…
The main reason for choosing the BodyHoliday is the extensive list of sports, activities and group tuition that’s all included in the price. Everything from aerobics classes to tennis lessons and scuba diving experiences. It’s a great choice for couples and groups, and also an ideal place to stay if you’re travelling on your own. There are also lots of pleasant newly refurbished single bedrooms, communal dining options and a bustling, sociable atmosphere. The minimum age is 16 years old (12 years old in the school holidays during Easter, Christmas and Summer), so the resort is also suitable for families with older teens (they certainly won’t get bored with the variety of activities on offer). The beach is superior than most in St Lucia, because it’s been improved with silky-soft sand imported from Guyana.
When to go
St Lucia is warm year round. High season is December – April. The weather is the best during this time, but the prices are also highest. It’s rainiest between September – November. May and June are great compromises – pricing starts to reduce but the weather is still reliably good – and you could tie in your visit to coincide with St Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival. (29th April – 8th May 2016)
Several Month specific programs are run:
During June, everything is dedicated to Dance at the BodyHoliday. From tango to foxtrot, zumba to jive – it’s a great way to learn new skills whilst getting some exercise!
During July and August, Wellfit Families is an adventure based holiday, featuring activities focused on learning new skills whilst having fun at the beach. Perfect for encouraging teens to ditch their iPads and spend some quality family time together!
September is solo focused. From hosted dinners to sunset cruises, the activities are designed to being together like-minded solo-travellers.
October is yoga month, whilst during November- December there’s the opportunity to feel and look great in the run up to the over-indulgence of the festive season with a pre-Christmas Restorative break.
Located at the northern end of St Lucia. Set within 42 acres of lush tropical gardens. It’s half an hour from the capital city Castries, but with everything that’s going on in resort it’s unlikely you’ll feel the need to leave the property.
Around 70% of the guests are British, and there’s a friendly, sociable atmosphere. The property is decorated in traditional Caribbean style.
Staff will deliver drinks to wherever you’re sitting; by the pool, on the beach or even in the sea!
Staff have a great attitude and go out of their way to keep everyone happy.
The Grand Luxury Ocean Front Room is our favourite, it includes a balcony with gorgeous views overlooking the Caribbean sea.
Food and drink
It’s a buffet approach for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but surprisingly good for an all-inclusive. There are also a la carte options available in the evenings. Part of the holistic approach is to include locally sourced produce where possible, including some grown on-site in the resorts own garden.
Value for money
If you like to be active and would enjoy making full use of the complimentary facilities and classes available (including tennis, golf, windsurfing lessons, and even a beginners scuba diving course plus much more besides), the BodyHoliday starts to make excellent financial sense. A free daily spa treatment is included in the price too, as well as free Wi-Fi.
