Despite visiting Dubai several times a year, it never ceases to amaze me! In particular, the changes that I have seen over the past years to The Walk have been nothing short of amazing.
Surrounded by amazing hotels, boutiques, dining options and bars, The Walk offers it all. With a myriad of different cafe’s and restaurants, it provides the perfect setting for a coffee, meal or drinks amongst the fascinating architecture (plus, it’s perfect for people watching). The new open-air mall opened earlier this year, and what a great addition! It offers not only a high-quality shopping experience but also a perfect way to enjoy the weather without necessarily spending the day at the pool or beach (if you are so inclined). Not all shops and restaurants are open yet but most are due to be over the next few months. The Cheesecake Factory is sure to prove a popular addition for many (including me..).
The Walk area has quickly become a popular location to stay in Dubai, with a great range of accommodation options to choose from. Two of my favourites have to be JA Ocean View Hotel and Hilton Dubai the Walk, with both hotels offering great value and all necessary facilities for families and couples as well as locations that are hard to beat.
JA Ocean View Hotel offers spacious rooms with stunning views of the Arabian Gulf and Palm Jumeirah. Children (and some adults) can also enjoy the PlayStation available in all rooms, a mini golf course and the very convenient and free of charge shuttle service to popular Dubai malls. And not to forget the jar of gummy bears in the rooms!

Hilton Dubai the Walk is ideal for larger families or groups of friends, offering studio and apartment style accommodation located among the stylish boutiques and restaurants of The Walk. Something that you simply can not miss is the Pure Sky Lounge. Located on the 35th floor, it provides an amazing view in addition to great cocktails and a popular open-air BBQ!

The new public beach area is great for children and big kids at heart. With big inflatables in the sea, you’ll be itching to give it a go (trust me)! Along the beach you will also find the new cinema, featuring a large outdoor screen. Enjoy a range of movies while relaxing on the beach in comfortable beanbags… surely there are worse ways to watch movies? I probably wouldn’t recommend this during the hottest summer months but on cooler evenings during September – May, this would be a perfect activity.
Overall, a visit to Dubai is simply not complete without spending some time at the bustling, fascinating and constantly improving The Walk area!
